Religious School Curriculum

Our Chai Curriculum is based on Enduring Understandings, which are the "big ideas," the concepts that provide the foundation for a lifetime of Jewish learning and living:

Torah

  • Torah is an ongoing dialogue between the text and its students.
  • Torah is real in our daily lives; it is with us wherever we are.
  • Developing the skills to study Torah is essential to integrating Torah into our lives.

Avodah

  • Avodah is the work we do to find sacred connections to God, community, and self
  • Engaging in the work of avodah can bring order, beauty, meaning and insight to our lives.

G'milut Chasadim

  • We have a responsibility to perform acts of g'milut chasadim to make the world a better, holier place.

Go to our Religious School Curriculum Page to view the Enduring Understandings for Torah, Avodah, and G'milut Chasadim at each grade Level in our curriculum.

Tefilah
Rather than organize by school grade, our 3rd through 7th grade Tefilah (Hebrew Study) students meet together as a group on Sunday afternoons, then progress through each ramot (level) in our curriculum. Go to our Tefilah Curriculum Page to learn more about our exciting Mitkadem Hebrew curriculum!
